Company: LHH Recruitment Solutions
Apply for the Legal Counsel 12 month FTC – Marketing
Location: Oxford
Job Description:

LHH is partnering with a well-established, international organisation to recruit a Legal Counsel into its in-house legal team on a 12 month fixed-term basis. The role is based in Oxfordshire and requires 2 days per week in-office.

This is a broad and commercially focused position, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across Marketing, Digital, Technology, Procurement and other commercial functions.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a varied workload spanning commercial contracts, marketing and advertising, digital initiatives, intellectual property and technology. It would suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys being close to the business, finding pragmatic solutions and working across a wide range of matters rather than operating within a narrow specialism.

The role

Working as part of an established in-house legal function, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including services, supplier, partnership, licensing and confidentiality agreements.
  • Advising on marketing and advertising matters, including agency arrangements, creative campaigns, sponsorships, promotions, events and digital activity.
  • Supporting matters relating to intellectual property & content licensing
  • Advising stakeholders on social media, consumer-facing communications and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Supporting a range of technology contracts and projects, which may include software, SaaS, cloud services and digital platforms.

About you

We are interested in speaking with UK-qualified lawyers, ideally with around 3+ years’ PQE, although candidates outside this range should not be discouraged from applying.

You are likely to have:

  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Experience advising on legal matters in a B2C environment
  • Good commercial judgement and an ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Both in-house lawyers and candidates currently working in private practice will be considered.
