Property Specialist – Property Income & Cost

Overview

In this role you support daily financial operations across a major property estate, ensuring accurate billing and rent collection while mitigating financial risk. You work closely with the Head of Estates and cross‑functionally with Property, Retail and Finance teams to maintain data integrity and leasehold compliance. You will help manage VAT reclaims and administrative tasks to prevent penalties, contributing to robust financial administration. Responsibilities

• Support daily financial operations across the estate with the Head of Estates
• Manage rent collection and active debt recovery for ~190 tenants (portfolio value 7.6m)
• Process annual rents, service charges and insurance data
• Assist with tracking of annual VAT reclaims
• Own routine data entry to ensure data integrity in Property Management Systems
• Maintain understanding of leasehold commitments to prevent penalties
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Property, Retail and Finance teams
• Represent the business professionally with external landlords, consultants and advisers

Key requirements

• Foundational knowledge or experience in estate management, commercial property billing, rent collection, or real estate finance
• Understanding of leasehold commitments, compliance awareness and operational risk mitigation
• Strong systems literacy with hands-on experience in property management software (MRI Horizon Management advantageous)
• Strong numerical competence handling large financial datasets and reporting
• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
