Lead QMS Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own the Quality Management System across a complex automotive environment, ensuring ongoing compliance and certification. You will partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to drive quality excellence, audits, and continuous improvement. You’ll oversee document control, accreditation maintenance, and issue resolution, shaping quality strategy across multiple sites. This is a hands-on, cross-functional leadership position in a highly regulated setting with tangible impact on product quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of the QMS to keep processes current and compliant
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits and maintain recognised accreditation
• Investigate QMS-related issues and drive corrective actions
• Monitor quality performance metrics and support risk management
• Collaborate with stakeholders across manufacturing and operations to drive continuous improvement
• Communicate quality requirements and status to senior management and cross-functional teams

Key requirements

• Significant manufacturing experience with a strong background in Quality Management Systems, QA, compliance, and auditing
• Lead Auditor qualification and experience managing internal and external audit programmes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent organizational abilities
• Effective stakeholder communication across all levels and functions
• Experience interpreting quality standards and driving corrective actions; continuous improvement experience
• Desirable: automotive industry experience, Lean Manufacturing knowledge, PFMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, CI methodologies
• Desirable: Engineering Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent experience
