Senior Programme Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead a high-value, complex maritime programme combining consulting and a software portfolio. You’ll manage and motivate project managers to deliver outputs on time, within scope and budget, while embedding health, safety and QinetiQ values. You will engage customers, partners and suppliers and drive improvements across the PM function. The position sits at the Haslar facility with hybrid work and requires SC clearance. This is a chance to shape critical defence technology programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a high-value complex programme (> £15M p.a.)
• Motivate and manage project managers within the programme
• Embed health and safety and safe practices across teams
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to deliver on time, within scope and budget
• Engage customers, partners and suppliers to maintain positive relationships
• Operate safely and in line with operating framework and competency requirements
• Embed a culture aligned with QinetiQ values
• Deliver programme outcomes to baseline (time, cost, quality, cash, sales)
• Resolve conflicts and prioritisation across the portfolio
• Drive continuous improvement in project and programme management practices

Key requirements

• 5–8 years of leading business/projects/programmes/portfolios or P3 function with successful delivery of complex programmes
• Experience leading programmes to 3 different customers
• Desirable experience with Maritime Programmes
• Desirable MSP Practitioner qualification
• Demonstrable capability to IPMA Level A
• Willingness to learn and adapt to diverse backgrounds
