Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed electrical estimates and tenders
• Manage multiple tenders simultaneously
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules and employer’s requirements
• Develop cost plans, take-offs and tender build-ups
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and commercial opportunities
• Coordinate tender process with subcontractors and suppliers
• Review, analyse and negotiate subcontractor/supplier quotations
• Attend and lead tender clarifications and subcontractor interviews
• Collaborate with design teams on buildability and value engineering
• Present estimates and tender proposals to senior management and stakeholders
• Support handover of projects from pre-construction to delivery
• Mentor and support junior estimators

Key requirements

• Strong experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E contractor or specialist subcontractor
• Experience managing large and technically complex electrical tenders
• Strong understanding of electrical building services and installation methodologies
• Excellent knowledge of estimating, procurement and subcontractor engagement
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project risks and opportunities
• Confident negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
• Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
