Associate Director Building Surveyor

Overview

Senior Building Surveying leader sought to grow a Bristol team within a global multidisciplinary consultancy. You will own client relationships, help deliver the regional business plan, and drive profitable, high-quality projects across multiple portfolios. The role blends strategic input with hands-on project delivery and team leadership, backed by a major firm’s scale. This is a chance to shape the Bristol Offering, expand key accounts, and mentor a regional Building Surveying team. You will influence direction while maintaining technical delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Win work and develop repeat business with key clients
• Prepare proposals, tenders and fee submissions with a commercial focus
• Lead major projects and act as senior client contact
• Support regional strategy, workload planning, service quality and profitability
• Collaborate with other service lines for multidisciplinary solutions
• Mentor and develop Building Surveying team members
• Provide technical guidance and senior-level client interface across the practice

Key requirements

• MRICS or FRICS status
• strong track record in Building Surveying consultancy
• experience winning work and managing client accounts
• ability to lead projects from inception through handover
• delivery experience across varied portfolios
• ability to manage and motivate teams across sites/work streams
• strong commercial awareness of fees, scope, contracts, profitability
