Consultant Physician in Stroke Medicine

Overview

In this role you will lead and influence the Isle of Wight stroke service within a regional network. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based stroke care across hyperacute, acute, and rehabilitation phases, with opportunities to shape strategy and education. You will engage in regional quality improvement and research activities to sustain top SSNAP performance and patient outcomes. This role offers visible impact across the patient pathway and collaboration with regional partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient Stroke Medicine services
• Occasionally undertake inpatient General Medicine duties
• Participate in regular 1 in 11 acute medical on-call rota
• Supervise junior medical staff
• Engage in teaching, examination, and accreditation duties
• Participate in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuous medical education

Key requirements

• Completed training in General Internal Medicine and Care of the Elderly with experience in Stroke Medicine
• High level of clinical experience in GIM, Care of the Elderly and Stroke Medicine
