Inbound Logistics Advisor

Overview

In this role you oversee inbound logistics across a global supply chain, ensuring materials arrive safely, on time and in compliance. You work with international suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents and project stakeholders to optimise performance and mitigate risks. You will develop inbound logistics strategies and monitor KPIs to drive efficiency. This position offers exposure to cross-country teams and complex shipments in the oil and gas sector, with opportunities to shape project delivery and logistics capability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inbound logistics strategies to support project delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics service providers.
• Monitor and improve logistics performance, service delivery, and supply chain efficiency.
• Support customs clearance activities and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Manage contractor and service provider performance against agreed KPIs.
• Identify logistics risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries and cultures to ensure seamless material flow.

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in international logistics and supply chain management.
• Strong understanding of customs and import/export processes, particularly within West Africa.
• Experience managing logistics contractors, freight providers, and customs agents.
• Knowledge of logistics-related safety risks and risk mitigation practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP and other supply chain systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including regular visits to Senegal.
