Technology Operating (Op) Model Consultant

Overview

In this role you help clients translate business strategy into scalable technology operating models. You partner with technology and business leaders to design blueprints, governance, and roadmaps that unlock agility and value. You will evaluate trends in Cloud, Data & AI, and modern engineering practices to shape transformations. You work across cross‑functional teams to implement new ways of working and engineering capabilities, delivering measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Architect technology operating model blueprints with business and tech leaders
• Co-create vision and design for technology operating models, including product/platform structures and governance
• Shape value cases and change roadmaps aligned to business objectives
• Advise on modern engineering capabilities (Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Automation, Data & AI, Cloud)
• Perform Agile and engineering maturity assessments to improve quality and speed
• Develop actionable roadmaps for large technology transformations using Lean/Agile principles
• Create methods/processes by tech area to embed new ways of working
• Provide risk mitigation insights and highlight common pitfalls in operating model transformations
• Lead and coach client teams and junior members on new operating models and practices
• Stay informed on industry dynamics to identify new capability needs and operating model changes

Key requirements

• Experience designing modern technology operating models or engineering background in Data & AI, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
• Understanding of modern IT, Data, AI and Cloud operating model components
• Grasp of functional architecture and its influence on operating model design
• Curiosity about emerging technologies (Cloud Native, Data, AI, Robotics)
• Strategic thinking to translate strategies into operating model designs
• Stakeholder management and communication skills to influence senior clients
