Application Engineer

Overview

In this role you will serve as a technical expert for flexible food packaging across Europe, supporting major food manufacturers. You will partner with Sales, R&D and Product Development to address packaging challenges and bring new solutions to market. You will run and support packaging trials, troubleshoot applications, and optimise processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role offers the opportunity to influence packaging innovation, travel across the UK and Europe, and grow expertise in a highly specialized market.

Responsibilities

• Support customers across Europe and serve as technical expert in the field
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D and Product Development teams
• Help solve packaging challenges and bring new solutions to market
• Supervise and assist packaging trials, troubleshoot applications
• Optimise packaging processes and scale solutions
• Develop expertise in a highly specialised meat packaging market
• Travel across the UK and Europe as needed

Key requirements

• Experience as an Application Engineer, Technical Service Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Product Development Engineer
• Experience within flexible packaging
• Experience with meat packaging (shrink films and bags; forming films and bags)
• Confident communicator with strong customer-facing skills
• Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and Europe
