Lead Java Developer

I’m working with a high-growth, global technology business that is looking to hire a Technical Lead into its product engineering organisation.

You’ll lead a cross-functional engineering squad, set technical direction, mentor engineers and work closely with Product and Data to build scalable, secure and reliable products used by customers globally.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on with development
• Setting technical direction and making key architectural decisions
• Mentoring and developing engineers within the squad
• Working closely with Product to turn ideas into scalable solutions
• Partnering with Data to build measurable, insight-driven products
• Owning performance, scalability, reliability and security
• Helping drive platform modernisation and engineering best practice
• Improving delivery, deployment and engineering quality
• Supporting technical interviews and the growth of the engineering team

What they’re looking for:

• Strong commercial experience with Java & Spring Framework – essential
• Senior/Lead-level software engineering experience
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers
• React and TypeScript experience would be highly desirable
• Experience working within a modern SaaS, MarTech or data-driven environment
• Cloud-native experience across AWS or GCP, with Docker/Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of software design, testing and CI/CD
• Comfortable influencing technical decisions across teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
