AI-Led Maximo Functional Lead / SME

Overview

In this role you guide the functional design, configuration, and delivery of IBM Maximo and MAS implementations, leveraging AI, automation, and reusable accelerators to meet enterprise needs. You bridge Solution Architecture and delivery with strong Maximo expertise and data awareness to deliver robust, scalable solutions aligned to governance and standards. You spearhead AI-driven delivery practices to reduce technical debt and accelerate deployment, while enabling informed decision-making through asset and operational data.

Responsibilities

• Translate architecture and requirements into detailed functional designs
• Lead fit-gap analysis and configure Maximo modules per best practice
• Define asset structures, workflows, and maintenance strategies
• Utilize AI-assisted analysis to expedite requirements and design
• Own end-to-end functional delivery across design, build, test, and deployment
• Develop and maintain reusable AI-enabled delivery assets and IP
• Lead functional consultants and coordinate teams
• Support automated testing, defect resolution, and validation
• Facilitate workshops and ensure stakeholder alignment
• Ensure adherence to design standards, governance, and documentation
• Maintain requirements traceability and configuration integrity
• Capture and codify delivery knowledge into AI-enabled assets and patterns
• Apply ML, predictive analytics, generative AI, and digital twins to asset management challenges
• Define AI governance and responsible AI approaches for critical infrastructure environments
• Define data structures and ensure alignment to enterprise models
• Identify opportunities to automate implementation activities via AI and automation

Key requirements

• Experience leading IBM Maximo / MAS implementations in a functional/techno-functional role
• Strong understanding of EAM processes (asset, work, maintenance, inventory)
• Experience creating reusable delivery assets, accelerators, or AI-enabled approaches
• Hands-on Maximo configuration experience
• Experience in fit-gap, functional design, and delivery execution
• Understanding of integration concepts and data models
• Data migration and data quality considerations
• Ability to operate between Solution Architecture and delivery teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation capability
• Experience in Aerospace & Defence and/or MRO environments (advantage)
• Familiarity with asset-intensive, regulated industries (advantage)
• Knowledge of maintenance and reliability approaches (e.g., FMEA, RAMT)
• Experience integrating EAM with ERP, PLM, supply chain, or IoT platforms
