Software Development Engineer, AWS Forward Deployed Engineering

Overview

In this role you will own the end-to-end delivery of production AI workstreams within enterprise environments. You’ll embed with a customer’s engineering team to design, build, deploy, and run AI-enabled migrations and agentic workflows. You’ll ship production-grade systems that combine AI agents with human practitioners, delivering measurable business outcomes at speed. Expect hands-on development, real-time debugging, and close collaboration with customers to iterate on live deployments. This is a high-ownership, fast-paced opportunity to push AI-powered platforms into production at scale.

Responsibilities

• own complete delivery of AI workstreams from requirements to production deployment
• design, build, deploy, and operate AI systems that coordinate with human consultants
• develop agentic AI solutions spanning migration tasks, orchestration, and platform infrastructure
• build and maintain integration with external systems, including AWS Transform
• deliver customer-specific agents and integrations in production for Fortune 500 clients
• work on-site with customers, observe live performance, and iterate based on feedback
• contribute to frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers (full-stack exposure)

Key requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• proficiency in at least one programming language
• experience with full software development lifecycle and related practices
• experience contributing to architecture and design of systems
• ability to deliver production software and own outcomes
