Head of Non Contentious Construction

Overview

In this role you will lead the firm’s non-contentious construction offering and shape the practice as a senior leader. You join a London boutique with established client relationships and a clear growth plan, taking ownership from day one. You will manage and develop a specialist team while remaining closely involved in technical work and client matters. The focus is on private sector development and infrastructure projects, using contracts like JCT and NEC to deliver commercial solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the non-contentious construction offering
• Manage matters with significant client involvement and independence
• Grow client relationships and expand the practice
• Recruit and oversee a specialist construction team
• Collaborate with Head of Firm on strategy and business development
• Oversee procurement strategy, drafting and negotiating construction documentation
• Advise on building safety issues and due diligence
• Maintain exposure to core non-contentious work (JCT/NEC) and related contracts

Key requirements

• Senior Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor with 7+ PQE (approx.)
• Strong specialist construction experience
• Experience advising on private sector development and/or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Experience handling building safety issues
• Ability to manage sophisticated matters independently
• Willingness to engage in business development and grow a practice
• Commercial, entrepreneurial mindset; fit with a growing specialist firm
• Experience from a recognised construction practice or strong in-house team preferred
