UW Lead – Cyber

Overview

In this role you support the W&I underwriting process within a growing specialist MGA, collaborating with experienced underwriters and brokers to assess transactional risk. You contribute to risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting recommendations while helping refine processes and governance. You’ll work closely with clients, solicitors, and distribution partners to sustain strong relationships and Martingale? ensure alignment with the company appetite. This is an opportunity to develop in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment with exposure to evolving risk landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting of W&I and other transactional risk opportunities
• Review and analyse submissions, legal docs and due diligence information
• Assist with risk assessment, policy analysis, pricing and underwriting recommendations
• Collaborate with brokers, clients, solicitors and stakeholders through the underwriting process
• Develop relationships with brokers and distribution partners
• Assist senior underwriters with portfolio management and ongoing risk assessment
• Contribute to development of underwriting processes, documentation and best practice
• Maintain understanding of W&I market trends and emerging risks
• Ensure decisions align with appetite and governance framework
• Take ownership of tasks and contribute to wider business development

Key requirements

• 1–3 years’ experience within insurance
• W&I, Title, Legal Indemnity, Cyber or D&O class experience
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience in smaller MGA, insurer or underwriting agency advantageous
