Senior Highway Design Engineer

Overview

Senior Highway Engineer role in a London-based consultancy delivering high-profile urban realm, active travel and highways schemes. You will lead highway and streetscape designs, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive schemes from feasibility to implementation. Responsibilities

• Lead and support highway and streetscape design in urban environments
• Deliver schemes across active travel, public realm, and traffic projects
• Produce detailed design packages using AutoCAD
• Take projects from feasibility through implementation
• Apply design standards including DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, LTN 1/20, LCDS and TSRGD
• Coordinate Statutory Undertaker plant diversions from searches to implementation
• Prepare technical reports and stakeholder documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, sub-consultants and stakeholders
• Support delivery in complex, fast-paced London environments
• Contribute to project planning and overall delivery of schemes

Key requirements

• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) or equivalent professional experience
• At least 3 years of highways/transport infrastructure design experience
• Experience developing highway designs in line with DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, LTN 1/20
• Strong AutoCAD skills for high-quality drawings and packages
• Experience managing Statutory Undertaker diversion processes
• Solid understanding of CDM 2015 for Designers/Principal Designers
• Strong communication skills with clients and stakeholders
