Associate / Associate Director Structural Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help establish and lead a new building structures capability in Belfast, combining technical delivery with business development to grow the office. You’ll be a senior technical leader, delivering diverse building structures projects and shaping the discipline within an expanding multidisciplinary consultancy. You will build and maintain client relationships, influence recruitment and technical direction, and contribute to a sustainable project pipeline across the UK and Ireland. Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of building structures projects across sectors (commercial, residential, industrial, education, public sector)
• Provide technical leadership across reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry and related structural systems
• Manage delivery from concept through to construction stages
• Produce and review technical reports, calculations, specifications and design information
• Serve as senior client/architect/contractor liaison and stakeholder point of contact
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients in Northern Ireland
• Support business development: networking, bid preparation, fee proposals and work-winning initiatives
• Identify opportunities and contribute to Belfast structures team growth strategy
• Mentor and develop junior engineers as the discipline grows

Key requirements

• Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Chartered Engineer status with IStructE, ICE or equivalent
• Significant consultancy experience delivering structural projects
• Strong technical capability in building structures design
• Experience leading technical delivery and design teams
