Senior Commercial Underwriter

Overview

In this role you will underwrite and price New Business profitably, balancing risk and reward. You will nurture strong broker relationships to secure quality business and deliver exceptional service. You will work closely with brokers, including in their offices, to build trust and maximise profitable growth. You will support colleagues with underwriting expertise and procedural guidance, contributing to a high-performing commercial team.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price New Business profitably and accurately
• Decide on acceptance or rejection of risks
• Identify and evaluate additional risk information as needed
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships through regular contact
• Assist colleagues with technical and procedural underwriting aspects

Key requirements

• Strong experience as a Commercial Underwriter
• Track record of successful broker relationships
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
