Civil Technologist- Water

Overview

As a Civil Technologist, you will contribute to innovative water infrastructure projects, from small assignments to large multi-faceted efforts. You’ll design sanitary, storm, and watermain systems, and support environmental and permitting considerations — collaborating with project teams across North America. You’ll apply Civil 3D to create designs, guide construction, and ensure standards alignment. This role offers impact through reliable, technically sound solutions that advance sustainable water management. You’ll work in a collaborative, technically rigorous environment with opportunities to lead and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design sanitary, storm, and watermain projects and related site design tasks
• Perform design calculations for civil infrastructure projects and rehabilitation
• Prepare design drawings using Civil 3D
• Coordinate with Project Manager, team members, and sub-consultants
• Serve as a technical resource and provide guidance to team members
• Align design with construction methods and project constraints
• Support construction activities with design clarification and guidance
• Develop strategies to minimize environmental and permitting impacts
• Interpret and apply design standards, client requirements, and regulatory rules
• Contribute to broader project tasks and initiatives

Key requirements

• Experience in a consulting environment with civil infrastructure design (min 5 years)
• Ability to lead one or more project teams
• Strong understanding of project document production and drawings-to-specifications relationship
• Solid knowledge of civil systems, materials, and industry standards
• Proficiency with Civil 3D
• Comfort with coordinating with project teams and stakeholders
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of design and construction codes
