Overview
As Senior Network Engineer at IMG, you will help commission a brand-new broadcast-first estate and own its day-to-day operation. You will bridge traditional networking with modern NetOps in a live, 24/7 environment where the network carries live sports content. You will design, operate, and automate a high-performance leaf-spine fabric and media networks aligned with SMPTE 2110, PTP timing, and advanced multicast. You will mentor peers, drive automation, and contribute to a security-conscious, cloud-connected WAN. This role offers impact at the core of IMG’s broadcast and media delivery infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Fabric and media network design, operation, and troubleshooting for leaf-spine, BGP/OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN
- Operate ST 2110 media networks with SMPTE timing and NMOS control
- Maintain production multicast (PIM-SM, anycast RP, IGMPv3) for media and distribution
- Capacity and lifecycle management across a 24/7 estate with non-disruptive upgrades
- NetOps and automation: NetBox as source of truth, code-driven config via CI pipelines (Python, Ansible, Git)
- Observability: streaming telemetry, Grafana/Zabbix/ELK, 24/7 operations support
- Modernisation: lead automation shift in run function
- WAN, cloud and security: eBGP WAN edge, DWDM paths, cloud interconnects, firewall management
- Build, migration and leadership: participate in Project One migration and act as Level 3 escalation mentor
