Corporate Tax Associate Director

Overview

In this role, you will lead corporate tax advisory for a varied client base, from listed groups to PE-backed businesses, within Grant Thornton’s Corporate and Multinational Tax team. You’ll manage client relationships, deliver compliant tax provisions and reporting, and drive advisory projects. You’ll also mentor junior colleagues, contribute to business development, and work across cross-functional tax teams to maximize opportunities. This is a high-impact role that shapes client strategy and supports growth with an inclusive, flexible culture.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on tax issues across compliance and advisory projects
• Lead client relationships and deliver client advisory solutions with senior team
• Oversee preparation of tax provisions and ensure timely tax reporting
• Develop and manage your own client portfolio with high service standards
• Collaborate with Grant Thornton tax colleagues to identify new opportunities
• Coach and develop junior team members through bespoke training
• Lead delivery of client work and ensure appropriate skill allocation across projects
• Support business development and proposals, building market presence and client base
• Adhere to firm risk management and quality procedures

Key requirements

• Professional qualification in Tax (ATT, CTA, ACA, ICAS) with post-qualification experience
• Strong UK corporation tax technical skills for domestic and international advisory projects
• Experience in tax provisioning and group reporting, including interims and full-year
• Track record of leading projects with accountability and timely delivery
• Self-motivated, team-oriented with excellent communication
• Experience coaching/developing junior staff and networking to grow the team
