Workshop Paint Operative

Overview

In this role you will finalize the prep work for trucks, applying primer and finish coats in the workshop. You will manage local paint and prep materials to keep the paint shop running smoothly and with consistent quality. You’ll uphold Health and Safety standards and maintain a clean, safe paint bay. The position supports workshop efficiency and throughput aligned with refurbishment and STR equipment needs. You will work closely with the Workshop team to deliver reliable, high-quality finishes and efficient production flow.

Responsibilities

• Complete final stage of truck preparation including prep, primer and finish coat for trucks completed in the workshop
• Manage paint and preparation materials stock, reorder to ensure continuous work flow in the paint shop
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and promote safe working practices
• Maintain high standards of prep and finish in the paint process
• Manage PPE and storage to protect equipment when not in use
• Keep the paint bay clean and orderly, ensuring a safe working environment
• Daily check compressor oil levels and operation of pressure regulators
• Maintain and change extract filters according to schedule
• Carry out startup and shutdown checks daily
• Report air leaks as they are identified
• Plan work to reduce non-productive time
