Associate Director, Estimating – Infrastructure

Overview

As an Associate Director in our UK Estimating team, you will lead the production of accurate estimates and cost plans for a range of projects and programmes. You will help raise estimating standards, contribute to bid development, and mentor staff while engaging with clients and other consultants. The role supports Turner & Townsend’s growth in the infrastructure sector and major programmes. You will work across diverse projects, shaping cost strategies and ensuring robust commercial decision support.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage the production of accurate estimates and cost plans for projects/programmes
• Promote estimating best practice and contribute to departmental objectives
• Stay current with developments in the technical area and support bid development with Directors
• Provide direction to staff and act as a role model for less experienced colleagues
• Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages
• Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients; identify cross-selling opportunities
• Staff management where appropriate and knowledge management

Key requirements

• Proven Estimating Management experience
• Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying
• Experience with estimating software packages
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A Cost E.
• Experience on major programmes and projects; infrastructure sector experience
• Experience in leading and managing teams
