Senior Quality Adviser Civil

Overview

In this role you will lead quality management on a major civil engineering project, championing the Right First Time initiative and aligning teams with the Quality function. You’ll promote best practices, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with quality plans and standards across site operations. You will drive audits, report trends, and support tender and pre-qualification inputs to strengthen quality outcomes. This position offers a chance to shape quality culture on a multi-year, high-profile tunnelling project with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Champion the Quality – Right First Time initiative
• Promote best practice in quality with the Quality function
• Mentor and develop staff on Quality management systems
• Ensure awareness of statutory duties and provide guidance
• Support site teams to comply with Quality Plans
• Conduct regular site inspections/audits for policy compliance
• Promote nonconformance reporting and close-out actions
• Collate and review Quality statistics for reporting and improvement
• Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans
• Prepare and review project Quality documents and third-party QA docs
• Support Project teams in developing Quality Plans
• Produce Quality plans and ensure documentation compliance
• Identify significant quality issues and implement controls in contracts/yards
• Maintain records to ensure compliance with procedures
• Provide reports and presentations as directed by Quality Management
• Carry out site inductions and training as required
• Support Audit Programme delivery and participate in audits
• Contribute to pre-qualification, tender and Quality award submissions
• Stop work if Quality management is in question
• Disseminate Murphy Quality information to employees
• Attend working groups/forums as required

Key requirements

• 4 years experience in a Quality/Auditing role
• Senior-level CQI membership
• Solid understanding of ISO 9001 requirements
