Project Design Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will take ownership of bespoke mechanical projects from concept through to manufacture and installation. You will collaborate with customers, production, suppliers and project managers in a growing engineering environment. You’ll work on specialist projects with potential for travel and clear progression paths. This is an autonomous, hands-on design and project delivery position that combines technical design with practical installation oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke mechanical solutions from customer requirements through to manufacture and installation
• Create 3D designs and technical drawings and coordinate with Production, suppliers and Project Managers
• Own your projects end-to-end and engage with customers during surveys, installations and project meetings
• Travel to customer sites to conduct surveys and oversee installations
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful project delivery

Key requirements

• Mechanical/Project Design Engineering experience
• Proficiency with Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar
• Commutable to Saffron Walden
