Managing Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of live construction projects. You will report to the Commercial Director and work with operations to monitor performance and guide the surveying team. You will oversee budgets, cost reports, cash flow, and subcontract procurement, while managing commercial risk and variations. You will lead reviews and final account negotiations to support delivery across multiple sectors. This is a hands-on role for a senior surveyor able to drive commercial excellence in a diverse project mix.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial oversight across multiple live projects
• Manage and develop Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors
• Review budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cash flow
• Oversee subcontract procurement and account management
• Monitor commercial risk, variations and contractual notices
• Lead commercial reviews and final account negotiations

Key requirements

• Main contracting experience is a prerequisite
• Breadth of sector exposure welcomed (commercial, education, leisure, residential)
