Indirect Tax Associate Director

Overview

In this role, you’ll lead indirect tax delivery for a portfolio of clients, shaping VAT strategies and ensuring high-quality technical advice. You will help grow the VAT advisory practice in London, collaborating with the VAT Partner and cross‑team specialists. You’ll blend advisory work with compliance, scoping and billing client engagements while contributing to firm risk management. You will develop new client relationships and support proposals on firm‑wide tax projects, driving growth and strategic focus. Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients as the main point of contact for indirect tax and grow the profitable workload
• Develop a targetable client portfolio using business development to start new relationships
• Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to proposals and provide technical input on tax-wide projects
• Contribute to the indirect tax leadership team with ideas on management, projects and strategy
• Scope, deliver, and bill client engagements while adhering to the firm’s risk management processes
• Maintain high-quality VAT advisory output with experience in financial services, funds, or insurance VAT issues

Key requirements

• Substantial experience in VAT advisory work
• Strong knowledge of financial services, funds industry or insurance VAT issues
• CTA or legally qualified
• Experience at Manager or Associate Director level seeking progression
