Head of Build

Overview

In this role you will lead the Build and Maintenance divisions, ensuring safe, profitable, high-quality project delivery. You will partner with Design, Operations, Commercial and senior leadership to translate strategy into actionable outcomes. Expect oversight of fit-out, refurbishment and maintenance projects across multiple regions, with a clear focus on client satisfaction, profitability and operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Lead multiple fit-out, refurbishment and maintenance projects from mobilisation to handover
• Manage site teams, maintenance engineers, subcontractors and delivery partners
• Drive operational performance, client satisfaction and project profitability
• Oversee budgets, resource planning, labour utilisation and commercial performance
• Collaborate with estimating and commercial teams on pricing, tenders and future opportunities
• Build strong client relationships and act as senior point of contact during project delivery
• Support business growth through operational excellence and repeat business
• Develop, mentor and grow high-performing operational teams
• Ensure health & safety, compliance and quality standards are met
• Provide strategic leadership, reporting and performance data to company leadership

Key requirements

• Proven experience in senior delivery, contracts management, operations or build leadership
• Background in commercial fit-out, interiors, refurbishment or related construction
• Experience delivering projects from planning through to completion
• Track record delivering projects from 500k upwards to multi-million-pound scale
• Strong commercial awareness with budgets, margins and performance responsibility
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams (site managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors)
• Ability to build lasting relationships with commercial and blue-chip clients
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management
• Hands-on, collaborative approach across the business
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance and construction best practice
