AI Engineer

Overview

In this AI Engineer role, you design, build, deploy and monitor AI systems at scale within a cross-functional team. You will ship production-ready software that solves real user needs, balancing performance, cost and delivery timelines. You own quality through automated testing, metrics and observability, and you select appropriate approaches for each problem. You’ll work with modern AI tooling, cloud platforms and agentic architectures to deliver impact across the business.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and monitor AI systems that scale across the business
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team with product, data and platform engineers, releasing software frequently
• Own quality through automated testing, metrics and observability
• Assess and select the right solution for each task, balancing performance, cost and timelines
• Build and optimise systems for performance, scalability and reliability

Key requirements

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java or Go)
• Experience with Gen AI tools (LangGraph, CrewAI, Hugging Face or OpenAI APIs) and ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals and LLM challenges (prompt engineering, latency, cost)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and Terraform or similar IaC
• Hands-on with DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
• Experience with distributed systems, scaling, and SQL/NoSQL datastores
• Agentic workflow experience is a plus and English fluency to C2 level
