Cash Equity German Institutional Sales

Overview

In this Institutional Sales role you drive the growth of Optiver’s direct counterparty (DCP) franchise within the German cash equity space. You collaborate with trading desks, support market outreach, and build a strong counterparty network to expand revenue and market presence. You will engage with clients, attend industry events, and help steer the evolution of trading desks toward new markets. This position offers impact across global markets and a chance to contribute to Optiver’s mission of liquidity and price transparency.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with German cash equity counterparties
• Assist traders in direct trading by guiding sequencing dialogues and providing context for pricing
• Support trading’s understanding of DCP sector trading to inform trading efforts
• Develop participant profiles, reports, and analyses
• Collaborate with marketing to create content for direct trading initiatives
• Attend conferences and seminars related to the products

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in Cash Equity Institutional Sales
• Strong network and established relationships in the German cash equity market
• Experience in top-tier direct competitor or global investment bank is highly desirable
• Proven ability to build relationships and sell in cash equities
• Willingness to travel and meet counterparts face-to-face
• Ability to manage events within the organization
• Strong communication skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive ownership of projects
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and learn quickly
