EHS Advisor

Overview

As EHS Specialist at Abcam, you will lead site-level Environment, Health & Safety performance within Operations in Cambridge. You’ll manage and improve EHS systems, audit programs, and governance to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll design and deliver risk-based training, coach site teams, and drive sustainable safety improvements. This role offers meaningful impact by strengthening safety culture and enabling faster life-science breakthroughs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance site EHS Management Systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
• Plan, lead, and execute internal EHS audits and track corrective actions
• Lead EHS initiatives aligning with Danaher governance and corporate standards
• Identify risk-based training needs and develop/deliver training for lab and operations
• Coach teams to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement proportionate controls

Key requirements

• H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate or equivalent)
• hands-on experience supporting a laboratory-based organization
• expertise in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
