R&D Associate Director

Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end R&D tax relief claims for a diverse UK client base, partnering with clients and HMRC to deliver compliant, high-quality submissions. You will be the main client contact for R&D queries and will mentor junior staff while shaping claim methodologies. You will also pursue opportunities to extend services in the local market and contribute to the growth of the national Innovation Incentives team. You work closely with cross-functional colleagues and leadership to scale the R&D practice. This is a growth-focused position with a clear path to more senior responsibilities within the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop claim methodologies for R&D tax relief submissions
• Prepare and submit R&D tax relief claims to HMRC
• Serve as main point of contact for client R&D queries
• Coordinate with HMRC on clients’ behalf
• Write technical project descriptions and supporting documentation
• Coach and review junior staff work

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of UK R&D Tax and preparation of R&D claims
• ATT (or equivalent) qualification
• Broad experience managing client finances, budgets, and fee negotiations
• Experience identifying opportunities for business development in tax (and potentially across service lines)
