Associate Director – Building Surveying

Overview

In this role, you will lead building surveying activities within the Bristol and SW region, driving multidisciplinary surveys, reporting, and project oversight. You’ll work within a growing BS Surveying Team to deliver refurbishment, lifecycle, and asset management surveys, while supporting work-winning and client management across private and public sectors. You’ll balance independent execution with team collaboration to meet client needs and uphold high professional standards. The role offers meaningful impact by improving building performance, asset strategies, and client value within a global infrastructure firm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive surveys and produce clear engineering reports for building surveying services
• Assist with construction monitoring and snagging to ensure quality and compliance
• Work independently under broad direction while supporting colleagues to meet client demands
• Represent the company professionally in client interactions and service delivery
• Develop and nurture client relationships and contribute to winning new work
• Pursue continuous improvement of standards, processes, and knowledge for core clients

Key requirements

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience with GoReport, Kyklcoud, and MOBIESS (tablet-based software)
• Excellent time management and ability to deliver reports in a timely manner
• Proficiency in financial, commercial, and risk management from project inception to completion
• Flexibility to work away from office, domestically and abroad
• Eligibility for DBS or other security clearance checks
