Family Solicitor (Privately Funded)

Overview

In this role you will manage a varied, privately funded family caseload within a cooperative Birmingham firm, handling high‑quality divorce, financial remedy and private children matters. You’ll build lasting client relationships, contribute to the growth of the Family team and own your cases from instruction to conclusion. The position offers meaningful client work in a forward‑thinking environment with opportunities to develop your career in family law.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of privately funded family matters including divorce, financial remedy, private children and related agreements
• Own cases from instruction through to conclusion while maintaining high client care
• Develop strong client relationships and contribute to the growth of the Family team
• Handle high‑value and sensitive matters with commercial and pragmatic approach
• Engage in business development to grow the department and your profile (advantageous)

Key requirements

• Around 4+ years’ PQE in private family law
• Solid experience in privately funded work
• Ability to manage own caseload end‑to‑end
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Comfort handling sensitive and complex issues
• Commercial and pragmatic mindset
• Interest in developing a career in Family law
• Business development experience is advantageous
