Overview

In this role you lead the Mechanical Building Services design delivery for pharma projects, ensuring GMP-compliant, pharma-grade performance. You will own the mechanical design lifecycle and coordinate with process and validation teams to integrate systems into critical production environments. You’ll drive risk management and change control to maintain regulatory compliance. This opportunity lets you shape design concepts and technical solutions for large-scale pharmaceutical facilities in a global consultancy setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design delivery for pharma projects (HVAC, cleanroom air handling, process ventilation, water systems) to GMP-compliant outputs
• Develop and oversee mechanical design concepts, calculations, equipment selections, and system schematics per regulatory requirements
• Perform technical reviews of drawings, specs, and deliverables for accuracy and alignment with design strategy
• Coordinate with process engineering and validation teams to ensure seamless integration with production environments
• Lead mechanical risk assessments, ensure UK regulatory and GMP compliance, and manage change control for modifications and queries

Key requirements

• Degree qualified and Chartered
• 8+ years’ experience on large-scale construction projects (preferably pharmaceutical)
• Based within a commutable distance of North London
