Senior Quantity Surveyor – Utilities

Overview

In this role you will take ownership of cost planning and commercial management across utility/civil projects, driving financial performance from inception to completion. You will work closely with project teams to protect margins, ensure client satisfaction, and support tendering and procurement activities. The position offers mentoring opportunities and a chance to shape cost control practices within a fast-growing contractor. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role in a dynamic sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control across projects
• Manage contracts, variations, claims, and disputes
• Oversee tendering and procurement processes
• Deliver accurate cost reports and financial forecasts
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks
• Mentor junior surveyors and foster team development

Key requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience of working within utility/civil engineering contracting, for a utility sub contractor
