Associate Tax Director

Overview

As Senior Business Tax Manager you will lead a diverse client portfolio, delivering compliant tax work while guiding advisory projects. You’ll work with Partners and Directors to grow the tax practice, mentor the team and strengthen client relationships. The role combines technical leadership with client-facing, business-development responsibilities in a collaborative culture. You’ll help shape the ongoing growth of a reputable firm with deep technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of tax professionals including coaching and performance management
• Develop and maintain strong client, prospect and internal stakeholder relationships
• Lead delivery of corporate tax compliance and advisory services for a varied client base
• Manage project delivery, budgets, risks and timelines, ensuring clear client communication
• Provide technical expertise on complex tax matters to the wider team
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture focused on development and improvement
• Support business development and identify opportunities to win new work
• Contribute to financial targets through client management, billing and cash collection
• Identify and implement process improvements and technology-driven initiatives within the tax practice

Key requirements

• Strong corporate tax experience in practice and/or industry
• Excellent leadership and people development capabilities
• UK corporate tax knowledge and current legislation
• Experience delivering compliance and advisory services
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships and projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Commercial awareness with ability to spot business opportunities
