Lead Solution Architect – Finance & Commercial

Overview

As Solution Architect for the Finance domain, you will translate business needs into architectural designs and guide technology choices. You work within the Strategy & Architecture team to shape roadmaps, governance, and reference patterns that support secure, cost-efficient, and business-aligned outcomes. You influence stakeholders to adopt the right technologies while mitigating risks and dependencies. You collaborate with development teams, architects, and vendors to deliver finance-focused transformation programs with clear architecture artefacts. This role offers impact on enterprise architecture and a chance to drive advancement in SAP, cloud, and data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead solution architect on Finance-related projects
• Create and maintain Conceptual and Solution Architecture Design documents
• Contribute to governance processes and assist the Technology Assurance Group
• Collaborate with Strategy & Architecture, development teams, other architects, and 3rd party suppliers
• Maintain a detailed view of existing architecture and plan transition to future state
• Identify and mitigate business/project risks; communicate progress to stakeholders
• Assist Chief Architect and Domain Architects with enterprise application and platform reviews
• Build and nurture relationships across KPMG business and technology functions
• Develop patterns, roadmaps, and recommend relevant technology choices

Key requirements

• Expert knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Cloud (Finance, Concur, Professional Services, Treasury Platform, Financial Compliance)
• Understanding of SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP CIS
• Knowledge of Finance and Professional Services processes (R2R, OuCF, etc.)
• Strong communication to both technical and business stakeholders
• Broad competence across Application, Integration, Data, Technology, and Security architecture
• Knowledge of SaaS, Cloud hosting, and integration technologies
• Stakeholder management for end-to-end solution design
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall SDLC
• Familiarity with architecture tooling (Alfabet, ARIS, Horizzon)
• Expert knowledge in at least one domain (Application Architecture; Automation; AI; Data; Integration; Infrastructure/Cloud; Security; DevSecOps)
• Knowledge of at least 2-3 other domains
• Understanding of EA governance (Info Sec approvals, architecture reviews, security assessments, pen tests, code reviews, service acceptance criteria)
• Awareness of technical debt and remediation approaches
• Experience in Enterprise and Solution Architecture roles
• ITIL and TOGAF qualifications
