Senior QS – Civils/Flood defence

Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor with civils and flood defence expertise to lead commercial delivery on a Heathrow? London-based site project. You will own the commercial elements from tender through to final account, supporting Project Manager and Site Managers, while developing an Assistant QS. You’ll work with the infrastructure team to manage costs, risks, and contractual matters on a phased multi-million-pound programme. This is a hands-on leadership role in a busy site environment with regional stakeholders and cross-functional support.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation to ensure terms, risks, and mitigations are appropriate
• Produce accurate and timely commercial project reports
• Forecast cashflow, change control, and financial forecasting
• Procurement of subcontractors, negotiation, and financial accounting
• Maintain post-contract commercial risk management identified at tender
• Supervise commercial performance of projects
• Prepare interim valuations and agree final accounts
• Lead negotiations and settlements of disputes with customers and suppliers
• Mentor and develop an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Coordinate with Managing Quantity Surveyor and operations team throughout the project

Key requirements

• Experience as Senior QS with civils and flood defence exposure
• Site-based role in London
• Proven ability to manage phased works up to ~20m (total ~100m)
• Strong contract administration and financial reporting
• Ability to negotiate with subcontractors and resolve disputes
