Legal Director – Property Damage

Overview

As Legal Director – Property Damage at DWF in Manchester, you will helm a property damage caseload within our Commercial Insurance practice. You will align case work with client SLAs, assess risk, and drive efficient outcomes while mentoring junior colleagues. You’ll build internal and external networks to understand client needs and support the firm’s strategic direction. This role offers hybrid work and the opportunity to shape complex insurance disputes for a prestigious client base.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of property-related claims
• Understand client requirements and manage cases per SLAs and best practice
• Analyze risk and justify decisions to clients internally and externally
• Prioritize work to maximise efficiency in practices
• Contribute to efficiency by aligning workload with the practice group’s scope and knowledge
• Build relationships to develop business networks and understand the Firm’s direction and client needs
• Provide support and act as the go-to person for junior team members

Key requirements

• 5+ years PQE and strong interest in property damage work
• Experience handling an insurance property-related caseload including TPPD, product liability, policy coverage and subrogated recoveries
• Technical expertise and strong interest in Commercial Insurance matters
• Proven track record of delivering results within strict deadlines
• Desirable: ability to communicate complex issues to internal and external stakeholders
