VAT Director

Overview

As an Associate Tax Director you will join the leadership team to deliver high‑quality VAT advisory across a diverse client base. You will lead engagements, mentor the team and drive growth of the indirect tax practice while collaborating with Partners and Directors on strategic UK initiatives. The role combines hands‑on delivery with business development, enabling you to shape the client journey and elevate service standards. This is an opportunity to influence the practice’s direction and progression for experienced VAT specialists.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-quality VAT advisory services across a range of clients
• Manage a portfolio of existing clients and act as the main contact
• Develop new business, identify opportunities, present proposals and convert prospects
• Lead, mentor and develop team members to ensure top quality work
• Collaborate with Partners and Directors on strategic initiatives and future direction of the VAT team
• Apply sound commercial judgment and manage risk to deliver excellent client journeys

Key requirements

• More than 15 years of VAT experience
• CTA or equivalent qualification
• Ability to build robust relationships across other lines of business
• Strong track record in developing new business and growing the indirect tax practice
• Experience leading client engagements, managing risk, and delivering technical quality and client service
