Mechanical Project Manager

Overview

In this role you lead the mechanical delivery on a major Islington project, from installation through commissioning and handover. You will work closely with the Project Director and Project Manager to coordinate mechanical works and interface with wider construction teams. You’ll drive progress against programmes, manage subcontractors and site teams, and resolve issues to safeguard safety, quality and schedule. This is an opportunity to shape a significant mechanical package on a technically demanding build. You’ll contribute to project success with a practical, delivery-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical works through construction, commissioning and handover
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, supervisors and site teams
• Monitor progress against construction and commissioning programmes
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information
• Coordinate services with other building services teams
• Chair subcontractor progress meetings and maintain records
• Manage labour, materials, plant and site resources
• Identify programme risks and delays
• Support procurement and monitor package costs
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and handover
• Provide progress updates to client and project team
• Resolve site and technical issues without affecting programme, quality or safety

Key requirements

• Experience delivering significant mechanical packages on complex projects
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and pipework
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site delivery teams
• Ability to read drawings, specs and programmes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Delivery-focused problem-solving approach
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements
