AI Engineer

Overview

In this role you will advance in-house AI and automation capabilities to streamline lending processes. You’ll work within a small, autonomous Growth & Analytics team to build production AI systems that scale. You will tackle loosely defined problems, iterate quickly, and turn promising ideas into reliable services. The role focuses on expanding chatbot actions, improving document parsing, and designing AI-driven workflows to reduce manual work and accelerate outcomes. You’ll contribute to a fast-growing fintech with a strong track record and ambitious scale in UK and US markets.

Responsibilities

• Improve the chatbot’s quality and expand its autonomous account actions
• Expand in-house document extraction pipelines for faster, more accurate parsing
• Design LLM-driven workflows to simplify case management
• Identify opportunities to replace manual work with AI systems
• Own solutions from discovery through deployment, evaluation and monitoring

Key requirements

• Strong engineering skills and experience building production systems
• Hands-on experience using LLMs in real workflows
• Experience designing and improving prompts, retrieval pipelines, agent workflows and evaluations
• Understanding of business processes and ability to automate them with AI
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, test hypotheses and progress with partial information
• Clear communication and ability to explain trade-offs and influence stakeholders
