You will be responsible for monitoring budgets, producing financial reports, supporting annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, and delivering meaningful financial insights to aid decision-making.
The role will also involve maintaining robust financial controls, completing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements, and assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts. You will support the management of restricted and unrestricted funds, oversee grant income and expenditure reporting, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance function. This position would suit a proactive accountant who can work independently and quickly become a key member of the team.

- Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and audit requirements
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial systems
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively
- Experience within the charity, not-for-profit or public sector would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Charity SORP, restricted fund accounting and grant-funded projects.
What you’ll get in return
- Salary up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Fixed-term contract until March 2027
- Hybrid working with home-working options on Mondays and Fridays
- 37.5-hour working week
- Opportunity to work within a respected not-for-profit organisation
- Supportive and collaborative working environment
- Exposure to strategic budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting activities
