We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Planning & Performance Manager to join the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority at a pivotal time for the region. This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of the organisation, helping to drive the delivery of the Mayor’s priorities, strategic missions and long-term ambitions for communities, businesses and residents across the North East.

As a key member of the growing Policy, Planning & Performance Team, you’ll help lead the development and delivery of our corporate planning and performance frameworks, ensuring there is a clear line of sight from strategic priorities through to measurable outcomes and real-world impact. You’ll work directly with senior leaders, influencing decision-making, challenging thinking and helping to ensure that the Authority remains focused on what matters most.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Shape how the Authority plans, measures and delivers success.
  • Influence strategic decisions by providing high-quality insight, analysis and performance reporting.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and partners across the region.
  • Lead the continued development of our corporate planning and performance arrangements.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and outcomes-focused delivery.

We’re looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery. You’ll be confident working with complex information, building strong relationships across the organisation and providing professional challenge to help improve performance and outcomes. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems and be motivated by making a tangible difference to the region.
