Our client, a well-established family-run independent automotive service centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Service Centre Manager to lead their team.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:15am-5:30pm Duties of the Service Centre Manager:
  • Manage the daily operations of the service centre, ensuring efficiency and high standards
  • Lead, support, and organise a small team of Vehicle Technicians
  • Allocate workshop jobs and oversee scheduling and workflow
  • Assist with workshop tasks when necessary, including diagnostic testing, basic practical repairs, or tyre fitting
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and workshop cleanliness is maintained
  • Liaise with customers, providing professional advice and updates as the Service Centre Manager
  • Prepare estimates, process quotations, and manage customer communication
  • Order parts, maintain supplier relationships, and reconcile supplier accounts
  • Assist with stock management and basic bookkeeping duties
  • Drive the growth of the business through excellent customer service and technician support
  • Requirements of the Service Centre Manager:
  • Proven experience in the motor trade, with strong workshop knowledge or management experience
  • Hands-on mechanical experience is advantageous but not essential; automotive knowledge and management skills are paramount
  • Confident in managing a team and workshop scheduling
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to identify additional revenue opportunities
  • Organised, reliable, and commercially aware
  • Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment
