About the Role

At Crown Fine Art, we specialise in the safe handling, transportation, and installation of priceless artworks. As a part of the team, you’ll be part of a team that works behind the scenes to ensure every masterpiece is treated with the respect and precision it deserves. The Head of Service Operations leads Crown Fine Art’s end-to-end operational and client service delivery across the UK & Ireland, driving service excellence, operational consistency, commercial discipline and continuous improvement across all service lines. Acting as the bridge between clients, operations, warehousing, museums & heritage, technical services, finance and commercial teams, the role drives service excellence, process improvement and digital transformation. The role will create a culture where client experience, operational excellence, accountability and continuous improvement are embedded across every function and location.

What You’ll Do

Service Excellence & Client Experience

  • Establish measurable service standards, SLAs and performance metrics.
  • Drive client satisfaction, retention and service recovery.
  • Position service excellence as a key competitive differentiator.

Operational Leadership & Performance

  • Lead operational delivery across client service, planning, storage and technical functions.
  • Improve operational consistency across all UK & Ireland locations.
  • Foster accountability and collaboration across teams.

Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation

  • Streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Introduce best-practice operating procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Drive technology adoption, automation and AI opportunities.

Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Improve billing accuracy, debtor management and cost control.
  • Balance service delivery with commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling and cross-selling services.

Service Delivery & Client Experience

  • Lead and continuously improve the end-to‑end client service proposition, ensuring consistent service excellence, measurable performance standards and effective resolution of complex client issues across all client sectors.

Operational Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership across client services, planning, storage, warehousing and technical operations, ensuring efficient resource utilisation, operational consistency and high-quality service delivery throughout the UK & Ireland network.

Process Improvement & Digital Transformation

  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement, standardisation, digital transformation and the adoption of technology, automation and AI to improve efficiency, visibility and decision‑making.

Storage & Inventory Management

  • Oversee storage and inventory operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, artwork traceability, compliance, revenue assurance and the delivery of agreed service standards to clients.

Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Support business growth and profitability by embedding commercial awareness, improving billing and debt management processes, identifying revenue opportunities and providing operational insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Leadership & People Development

  • Build, develop and lead high‑performing teams by fostering accountability, collaboration, employee engagement and continuous learning while embedding Crown’s values and behaviours throughout the organisation.

Requirements

  • Significant leadership experience within fine art, museums, galleries, luxury services, specialist logistics or comparable sectors.
  • Proven experience leading multi-site operational and service delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of client service excellence within high‑value and specialist environments.
  • Demonstrated experience of operational transformation and process improvement.
  • Commercially astute with experience managing profitability, pricing and client performance.
  • Strong financial management capability including budgeting, KPI management, workforce planning and debtor management.
  • Experience implementing and embedding technology and digital solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Client‑focused and committed to service excellence.
