We are looking for dynamic and motivated individuals to join our hard-working Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at Southport Hospital.
The post holder will be designated a team of patients, ensuring and maintaining the safe delivery of quality patient care.
The post holder is required to be enthusiastic with a passion for excellence within the delivery of patient care, be able to work as a member of the team and will continue to help provide high standards of care. The successful candidate must possess a compassionate and positive manner, with excellent communication skills and the ability to ‘CARE’
Main duties of the job
- To contribute to the delivery of quality patient care by participating in and providing the assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of individualised care
- To assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients in accordance with local policy
- To participate in the developing and monitoring of standards of care and other quality initiatives in a positive manner
- Your role will require the use of advanced skills of assessment, prioritisation, decision-making, risk management and communication skills
- To always be caring, approachable and display a consistently professional manner
- Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

Qualifications
- 1st Level Registered Nurse (degree/diploma)
- Current NMC Registration
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of NMC professional standards for practice contained within the code.
- Experience of working in a clinical environment
- Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- An understanding of national, regional, and local NHS issues
