An exciting opportunity has presented for a pharmacist with clinical cancer experience to join our cancer pharmacy team. This post is a permanent position within the oncology team to work closely with the Lead Clinical Pharmacist to manage the growing service. We are looking to recruit to the post of Senior Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology who will play a pivotal role in managing the pharmacy service provided to oncology patients.As a world-leading research facility and a large oncology tertiary referral centre, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting edge licensed and clinical trials to oncology patients.As a registered pharmacist, you will provide a person-centred approach to care, and manage specialist pharmacy services to oncology patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) for all oncology indications. You will collaborate with the Lead Clinical Pharmacist to improve the pharmacy service for these patients and educate pharmacy and multidisciplinary staff on these innovative treatments.The UCLH Cancer Pharmacy Team is a large team across oncology, haematology and transplantation and works well together.

Main duties of the job
- To provide highly specialised and complex evidence-based clinical advice and information to the multidisciplinary team on the care and treatment of oncology patients.
- To deliver and promote high quality, cost effective, patient focused pharmaceutical care.
- To manage the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients.
- To manage cancer pharmacists delivering clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients.
- To support the training and development cancer pharmacists in the field of oncology.
- To support the opening and management of oncology clinical trials.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Master degree in Pharmacy, or equivalent.
- Pharmacist Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience and expertise.
- Evidence of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
- Independent prescriber, or willingness to undertake an independent prescribing qualification.
- Advanced practitioner as defined by the Faculty of Cancer Pharmacy Advanced and Consultant Level Framework (ACLF).
- Evidence of formal management training.
Experience
- Minimum five years post-registration.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist in a cancer specialty including oncology.
- Experience of verifying prescriptions for systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT).
- Actively seeks to improve the ward and clinical services provided to enhance quality of care to cancer patients.
- Experience as a clinical pharmacist in managing haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) patients including verification of conditioning prescriptions.
- Experience in reviewing and setting up cancer clinical trials including validation of electronic protocols.
- Experience of managing change and driving service improvements.
- Evidence of evaluating own and pharmacy staff’s work to drive and deliver service improvements.
- Participation in multidisciplinary health services research.
- Evidence of publishing in a peer reviewed journal.

- Effective time management and demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent ability to prioritise complex workload and work accurately under pressure.
- IT literate, including use of spreadsheets to capture and manipulate data, search for evidence-based practice, presenting complex information.
