Location: DY6Salary: £40,000 per annumFull Time | PermanentFlexible working required including 1 in 3 Saturdays

An established and growing logistics business based in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join its operations team.

This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who can work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain excellent service levels across daily transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating UK transport operations
• Managing driver routes, schedules, and vehicle utilisation
• Monitoring deliveries and resolving operational issues proactively
• Communicating with drivers, customers, and warehouse teams
• Ensuring compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
• Supporting same-day, groupage, and time-critical deliveries
• Maintaining accurate operational records and transport documentation
• Assisting with weekend operational cover on a rota basis

Requirements

• Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
• Ability to work effectively in a busy and reactive environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Confident using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Knowledge of ADR, temperature-controlled, or European logistics would be advantageous but not essential
